Fading Images Animation

For this tutorial I am using these two images.



Step 1: You will need to drag these images so they are in the one image with one layer above the other, you can do this in PhotoShop then import it into Image Ready or just straight in Image Ready. Your layer palette should like the following :



Step 2: In Image Ready in the "Animation" window make a new frame by clicking the "New frame" button.



Step 3: Once you've clicked the button, you frames should look like the following:



Step 4: Now select the second frame and go to your layers and click the little eye image on the layer on top so it is no longer visible.



Your frames should look like this now:



Step 5: Now select the first frame again and click the "Tween" tool.



Step 6: A window should appear with options, enter in the values you like, I find 3 is usually a good value for between frames.



You frames should now look like this:



Step 7: You can now save you animation or edit it further. I've faded the image back to the first frame by selecting the second frame then tweening it and instead and selecting "next frame" I've put "first frame", I've also slowed frame 1 and 5 down. To save to File > Save Optimised As.



My finished product is this:



NOTE: It's usually a good idea to keep animations file sizes small so it is dial up friendly, for tips on reducing file size in animations visit my Animation tutorial.
